The aggravated robbery and arson of gas station employee and customer in Palestine, TX occurred on February 21, 2019 when 41-year-old black male Robert Lawrence Thompson entered a gas station, taped up the white female cashier and a random white female customer using Gorilla Tape, doused them in lighter fluid and lit them on fire. He then took all the money out of the cash register and watched the two women burn for a while before exiting the store.[1]

Gas station employee victim Linda Camire had just lost her sister a few days prior to the incident.[2]
